Meriadoc "Merry" Brandybuck A young hobbit, one of Frodo's many cousins. A member of the Fellowship, he stays with Frodo after it is broken. Sam is very fond of stories about dragons and elves. Samwise "Sam" Gamgee A hobbit, Frodo's gardener at home, and his servant and friend on the quest.
